Rafiki is a Swahili word that translates to English as “friend”. And that is what we seek to be to those at Rafiki orphanage in Ghana. We want to model the self-giving friendship that The Lord Jesus has offered us in John 15 where He said “if you do what I command you are my friends”. We are no longer only mere servants but friends of the King because He has given of Himself to break the barriers of enmity with God. In taking the Lord’s friendship we respond to His offer to “do what He commands”. He has most certainly commanded us care for the orphan and child in need (Jam. 1:27 etc…). We ask you to become a “RafikiFriend” by taking the Lord Jesus’ offer of friendship with us in doing what He commands by caring for the orphans at Methodist Rafiki Satellite Village in Ghana, Africa.
